Dimensions: 19,5 cm high from head to toes

Condition: Old restoration at the right shoulder, a crack below the left knee. Nice patina.

Christ based on the model made by Bastiano Torrigiani in 1581 for San Giacomo Maggiore church in Bologna and commissioned by Pope Gregory XIII. For that commission, Torrigiani worked from an earlier corpus model invented by Guglielmo della Porta, whose workshop Torrigiani had inherited after Guglielmo's death in 1577.
