Pedro Ferrer Calatayud studied at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia, where he later became a professor, director and academic. In 1895 he was awarded the Cross of Isabella the Catholic for his painting presented at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid, where in 1910 and 1912 he won Gold Medals.
