An important episode of a dramatic story from Greek mythology involving Deianira, Nessus, and Heracles, here represented in the lower left corner just after having shot to death a poisoned arrow to the Centaur. Heracles ended up dying, burned by his own poison impregnated in the tunic, and then Deianira, in despair, committed suicide...
